Letโs learn
There are 60 minutes in 1 hour. The long hand goes all the way round the clock in 1 hour.
Half past
The long hand points to 6. It has gone half way round, which is 30 minutes. The short hand is half way between two numbers.
Half past 2 is written 2:30.
Quarter past
The long hand points to 3. It has gone a quarter of the way round, which is 15 minutes.
Quarter past 2 is written 2:15.
