A made-up story about bravery ยท about 2 min
Drop, the Brave Little Raindrop
Ages 7โ9High up in a fluffy grey cloud lived a tiny raindrop called Drop.
The cloud was getting heavy. โItโs time!โ called the other raindrops. โTime to rain!โ
One by one, they jumped. โWheeeee!โ
But Drop held on tight. โItโs such a long way down,โ Drop whispered. โWhat if I donโt like it?โ
An old, wise raindrop floated nearby. โEvery drop feels scared the first time,โ she said. โBeing brave doesnโt mean you arenโt scared. It means you try anyway.โ
Drop thought about that. Then Drop closed both eyes, counted to threeโฆ and let go!
Down, down, down Drop fell, past a flock of birds, past the top of a tall tree, faster and faster, untilโฆ plip!
Drop landed on the petal of a drooping yellow flower.
โOh, thank you!โ sighed the flower, lifting her head. โI was so thirsty!โ
Drop slid down the stem and soaked into the soil to the flowerโs roots. Drop felt proud and happy.
The next morning, the Sun came out and warmed the garden. Drop began to feel light, so light that Drop turned into invisible water vapor and floated up, up, up into the sky.
High above, Drop cooled down and joined lots of other tiny droplets. Together they made a brand-new cloud.
When the cloud grew heavy, the raindrops called, โTime to rain!โ
This time, Drop smiled. โIโll go first!โ
The lesson: Being brave doesn't mean you aren't scared. It means you try anyway.
